Cafeteria Guidelines
Elementary and middle school students will continue to operate under the CEP program, which is a breakfast and lunch program free of charge. This provision under the 2010 Healthy, Hunger-free Kids Act permits qualifying school systems to serve free meals to each student in attendance. If a family chooses to opt out of CEP or if a student chooses to buy a second meal, the child will pay the prices listed below.
2025-2026 Meal Pricing
| Student | Price | Adult | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Extra Breakfast | $2.00 | Breakfast | $3.25 |
| Extra Lunch | $3.00 | Lunch | $5.00 |
We encourage all students to claim a free meal. Breakfast items will be served in the cafeteria line for bus and car riders. Students may also pack lunch and snacks each day. Please note that we have no methods for heating up packed student meals. Lunch will be served on a serving line according to the National School Lunch program. Students will go through the line in the cafeteria to choose an entree and side items. We offer a variety of menu options that can be previewed from the WCS website, including fresh salads and supplemental packer lunches.
Students may purchase some extra snacks or ice cream for sale in the cafeteria.
Here are some other important guidelines to remember in the cafeteria.
Students are to practice good manners in the cafeteria. Students must use good table manners, including picking up and cleaning up after themselves. Running, pushing, kicking, tripping, breaking in line, throwing food, tampering with other students’ food, popping milk cartons, or other disruptive behaviors lead to consequences.
Students are to pick up all food and utensils as they go through the serving line. Students are to remain seated during meals.
Students who bring lunch from home are to remain with the group and follow the same procedures and regulations (go through the line). We encourage students to take a packer supplemental lunch and milk.
Federal and state laws prohibit student use of carbonated beverages during regular lunch hours and state that no food or drink from other businesses can be brought by anyone into the cafeteria.
